However, there are some mistakes in the maintenance, such as replace the oil, which seems simple but complicated actually. It may cause some failures if it isn't handled well and leading to more serious consequences. we are going to reveal some tips about oil replacement to you.

1. If there's little oil sludge in the air compressor when replacing the oil, you can supply half of the new oil, operating for 15 mins to 1 hour, discharge, and then fully supply the new oil to resume the normal operation. If the oil sludge deposits too much carbon, the oil sludge and carbon deposits can be cleaned manually after the oil cylinder of the air compressor is disassembled, then cleaned it with a special cleaning detergent. 

You should never forget to blow the water dry after that. Then add the cleaning oil, cleaning for 100~200 hours, discharge, and finally supply the new oil to resume normal operation. Otherwise, the quaility of oil additives is likely to be damaged and may causes safety accidents.

2. Every time you replace the air compressor oil, the remaining oil should be discharged. Never supplying, filtering and then reuse the remaining oil. Although the color of the oil doesn't change on the surface, the consumption of additives may have exceeded the limit.

3. Finally, customers should pay attention to the different oil numbers and the different levels of the air compressor and never mix them. In addition, the oil filter, crude oil filter element, air separation fine filter, oil bypass filter, etc. should be replaced at the same time when replacing the oil. Check whether the air filter, the temperature control alarm, the one-way valve and the collector are intact.

4. It is recommended not to regularly replacing the oil. The aging of the oil can be accelerated due to the effect of the environment, machinery, equipment and impurities. To prevent carbon from depositing and coking, operators should pay attention to the oiliness, viscosity and color of the lubricating oil during operation (every 300 hours), which means you cannot judge the quality of air compressor oil only by color.

Get used to recording the time of replacing the lubricating oil and other components, check the records and identify the person in charge. Among them, the screw air compressor oil is a special oil, which must be in charged by a special person to prevent the oil mixing accidents. Tighten the barrel cover after using the air compressor oil, and keep the uncover tools away. If a great evaporation loss of lubricating oil is found, primarily, check whether the oil-air separator is pierced.
